Frame & Fork

Key to the quality ride feel is the composite frame matched with endurance road bike geometry. A slightly more relaxed geometry with a more upright riding position combines comfort and efficiency for long days in the saddle.

At the core of the Z6 is a UHC Performance carbon composite frame. Felt’s engineers use a mix of high and medium modulus fibres to provide stiffness and malleability where it’s needed. The Z5 is not a sluggish endurance bike. The frame is constructed with plenty of lateral and torsional rigidity for efficient power transfer and precise handling.

Felt’s InsideOut construction technique for precision engineering of the carbon layup translates into consistent performance when you’re on the road. Down low is a BB30 bottom bracket which helps improve lateral stiffness. However, vertical compliance is built in through slim seat stays and the natural vibration dampening qualities of composite.

Internal cable routing creates a clean looking frame while protecting your cables. The Z6 is compatible with electronic gears if you’re looking to make future upgrades.

Upfront is a UHC Advanced Carbon monocoque fork to help with steering precision and provide vibration damping for your hands. The carbon fibre seatpost also helps to absorb road buzz to keep your muscles feeling fresher for longer.

Components

You get a Shimano Tiagra 10 speed drivetrain with compact cranks and a wide range cassette. This setup allows you to take on all the varied terrain you’re likely to find on a century fitness ride, or during a sportive. The 2016 Z6 runs on lightning quick disc equipped Felt RSL3 rims.

TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes provide consistent stopping performance in all weather conditions. This opens the Z6 Disc up as a year round training machine and commuter.

Size specific short reach handlebars and crank lengths (as well as stem) gives you the best fit on the frame, regardless of the frame size you choose. These features will keep you in the saddle for longer.
